Tomato "Blueberry".
The result of the continued selection work of Professor of the Department of Horticulture Jim Myers at the University of Oregon, USA, to obtain tomatoes with purple fruit.
The famous first variety with purple fruit - "Indigo Rose" was taken as a basis. The result was a new variety with large fruits. Early ripening - 95-100 days from germination to fruiting, indeterminate, tall.
The brush is simple, long, drooping, consisting of 6-8 fruits. The fruits are round, dense, shiny, weighing up to 150-180 g, in technical ripeness they are green with purple shoulders reaching ½ of the fruit, in biological ripeness - dark burgundy with purple shoulders. The pulp is dark burgundy. Very tasty. Purpose - dessert.
Value of the variety: exceptional resistance to diseases. In the Leningrad region, they are not affected by late blight.
A source of natural antioxidants that help:
- strengthen blood vessels
- reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases
- improve visual acuity
- fight cancer cells.
